I used to have really bad breakouts and those were sudden breakouts. 3 years back I moved into a new place and then something went wrong due to which I started to have breakouts. You can check out my pics from the Trip to Gokarna post where you can see the acne. I’ve also mentioned about in my ‘I have pimples because I am not married yet’ post.
So I saw a dermatologist 4-5 months back, prior to that I had seen quite a bunch of them hence this was my last try. But this one turned out to be really great. He asked me first to take care of my diet and exercise regularly. Along with that he changed my moisturizer, sunscreen and face wash, he prescribed some acne control cream as well .
First thing diet, I included fiber in my diet. I make sure I have a bowl of salad which contains a cucumber, carrot and tomato dressed with olive oil. Along with that I take 1 avocado shake in the morning and 1 pomegranate juice or pineapple juice in the evening. I avoid junk, I love homemade food.
Second exercise, I do yoga every single day except for the week when I get my periods. I do different asanas like Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation), Utrasana (Camel Pose),Vriksasana (Tree pose), Vashistasana (Side Plank Pose) and Halasana (Plow Pose). I also do scissors, crunches with scissors, leg raises and my favourite plank. Earlier I was barely able to hold the plank for 10 seconds and now I can hold it for 1 whole minute. My highest is 1 min 12 seconds, which I am really happy about. I also walk everyday for almost 3.7 km.
Third my skin care routine, I inhale steam which opens up the pores of my skin and then I scrub it with the rice flour(substitute rawa or suji) , honey, curd and cream mixture. Gently scrub the face, it helps to remove the dead skin off the face. After I rinse my face with cold water because cold water helps to close the pores. I apply a face pack. So for the face pack I add oats, honey and rose water. For face pack sometimes I use dark chocolate and rose water. It gives a beautiful glow to my face. I leave it for 10-15 mins on my face and then wash it off with cold water. For pigmentation I rub a slice of cucumber or aloevera extract on my face and leave it for 20 mins.
Don’t work out or do yoga just so that you could look good in the picture or you could fit into that dress. Of course those are the perks of getting into shape, but do it to stay healthy. Don’t be scared of body shamers, they don’t know what they’re saying and who gives a fuck about them. Love your body. Love yourself.
